Saudi Arabia has unveiled the world’s first sanitizing prayer beads, coinciding with the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan and the Umrah season. This innovative initiative comes as Saudia and the Kingdom prepare for the expected surge of guests and Umrah pilgrims.
ProtecTasbih, developed in collaboration with creative agency partners, marks a significant advancement in prayer beads by offering a dual function of spiritual practice and hand sanitization. This innovative product represents a harmonious fusion of cultural tradition and modern health consciousness, redefining the conventional concept of prayer beads.
The beads utilize tea tree oil as a sanitizing agent, known for its effectiveness against a wide range of bacteria by disrupting their cell membranes. Through a molding technique, the oil is integrated into a semi-solid compound, resulting in a solid bead.
Mr. Essam Akhonbay, VP Marketing at Saudia, emphasized the airline’s commitment to guest well-being. He expressed pride in introducing this unique product, which enhances the pilgrimage experience, allowing guests to fully engage in their spiritual journey.
The innovative new product will be offered on board to all Saudia guests, ensuring a healthier and more sanitary pilgrimage journey. Additionally, Protectasbih prayer beads were distributed throughout the holy city of Makkah.
